Smart Quotes

The small details

Straight quotes and three-dot ellipses are easy to miss when writing on a canvas. Smart Quotes is a small Framer plugin for cleaning up punctuation in selected text layers: quotes, ellipses, and dashes can be converted in one pass.

Using it

Select the text layers, choose the punctuation to convert, and run it. The latest conversion can be undone from the notification or plugin menu. Locked layers are skipped rather than interrupting the rest of the selection.

Controls

Quotes, ellipses, and dashes can be toggled separately. The interface also shows the selection count before making changes.

A limitation

Framer’s text API writes the converted result as plain text. Mixed formatting and inline links in a converted layer are not preserved, so those layers need a closer look before running it.
